Ruth

Today I went through the book of Ruth. Ruth's story is amazing to me. She is widowed and is arguably the strongest woman of the Bible. She was determined to move with her counselor and mother-in-law, Naomi. She wanted to go where God was leading her, no matter what the cost. She knew it would be difficult to find a husband in Bethlehem, but it was worth the move. Ruth met a man named Boaz, whom she worked for as a harvester. Boaz quickly took notice of this hardworker and began to pursue her. Ruth was honored to be sought after. She felt she didn't deserve his noticing her. She constantly thanked him for his kindness and comfort. Boaz instructed his men to watch over her and help her. He protected her and provided for her. Ruth was so giving, even sharing the grain she had harvested with Naomi. She served Boaz whole-heartedly, not once expecting anything in return. But he did notice her noble character. He was proactive and a leader in his pursuit. They got married, and Boaz was proud of his wife.

That's the man I want. That's the woman I want to be.
