The Gift of Grace

Yesterday on the radio, I heard Pastor Derwin Gray talk about a weird situation he was in once. At his church one day, a man walked up to him and gave him his watch. He said he felt God had called him to do this, to give something sacrificially to his pastor, even if Pastor Gray didn't need it. Pastor told his fellow pastors about what had happened and how he couldn't accept this generous gift. His fellow pastors told him, "Why can't you just accept the gift? It's freely given, from the heart." Pastor then talked about how this is similar to God's gift of grace to us. So often, we don't accept it. We can't forgive ourselves for our past mistakes, but God is so generously stretching out His hand to us, asking us to just accept the gift.
So accept God's sacrificial gift to you today. Let go of whatever you're holding onto and let God's grace reign over your life. He wants nothing more and nothing less than this. Always remember that you are a servant of God. He chose you. He wants you. He loves you.
"...Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father..." ~Genesis 50:17
