Tomorrow morning at 6am, my flight departs for good 'ole Houston, TX, where my roommate lives. I haven't seen her in almost 3 months, and I am so ready to be with my best friend again! I get to visit with/meet her family and friends for the next four days. So excited! I've never been to Texas, so this should be a real treat. Then, on Wednesday, we will start our drive back to NC together-- road trip! I feel so fortunate to have been able to go on so many trips this year, and I have this one, a trip to Iowa in October, and a trip to the beach at the end of December.
I'm also going back to school in one week-- moving in that is. Classes don't start until the 24th. I know it's nerdy, but I have to admit I love learning! I love absorbing information and feeling smart when I can remember/repeat it. I also am looking forward to being with my friends again, having that support system all around me. I can't wait to get more involved in the different ministries at my school! One I liked a lot last year was InterVarsity (or IV). I went to the meetings occasionally and loved the speakers and activities they had. I hope to get more involved and get to know the people there more. Oh, this semester is going to be great! I only have 4 classes (hard ones though) including: Statistics, Spanish 2, Abnormal Psych, and Global Connections. I feel that I am better at managing my time, and I can notice the signs that I am working too hard or feeling too rundown and overpowered by my schedule. I've set out Wednesdays of every week to go to only one class from 9:30am till 10:45am, and then I will spend the rest of the day studying and crossing off a to-do list. This seems to work best for me, and I am excited to see how things turn out! Off to finish packing and get some sleep before my early flight!
